Free The Children
Free The Children is a Canadian organization working around the world to “free” children from povert, child labour, slavery, and zero human rights.
We Are Silent
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 20, 2014, the Free The Children student club at my work is participating in a We Are Silent event.
We Are Silent encourages a day of not speaking or using social media. This is to raise awareness of those around the world without a voice.
On Thursday, March 20, 2014, I will be joining a number of students (a heartbeat and moral compass of many societies) and will not be talking or using any social media channels, email, phone, etc. These will be silent.
Just like millions around the world who are bullied, and without human rights.
If you would like to support this event, please contact me.
A Call To Action
If able, I encourage all readers of this blog to go silent for one day. Even students who think they are unable. In 20 years, when you do some reflection, what will be more important to you: 1% worth of participation marks for class, responding to one of thousands of daily emails, a Tweet, or standing alongside millions around the world?
