United At Last
by Adam Goodwin | 2013 | Last Updated: December 19, 2013
December 2013 is a superb month for me. I get some time off for mental and physical renewal from what has been a fun, educational, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity (i.e., living in Europe). Even more superb, I get to see my mother and father for the first time in many months.
For three weeks in December, I will get to live in Cairo, Egypt (where my parents currently live). I will get to see another religion (Islam) living through a major Christian holiday (Christmas). I will get to eat yummy and various Arabic dishes. I will get to re-visit locations I got to see last December 2012.
After many months, I will be united with my parents. Even more special, it will be on the continent of Africa and in the region of the Middle East. Home to some of the planet’s most diverse and intriguing peoples, foods, cultures, and beliefs.
