Most famous for The Beatles, Liverpool, United Kingdom, is one of England’s largest cities. A previous hub of global maritime trade, the city has done a fantastic and magnificent job of maintaining its old ports and docks for use by recreationalists, tourists, and locals.
Some quick recommendations for places to visit and experience the history, first-hand:
- Matthew Street;
- Lime Street;
- St George’s Hall;
- China Town;
- Royal Liver Building;
- Albert Dock;
- Liverpool Cathedral; and
- The waterfront.
This is a small list. There are many more wonderful and great things to see and do.
Liverpool is a decedently sized city. Many tourist attractions are located along the water near Albert Dock, King’s Dock, and Queen’s Dock. Staying in these areas will allow for days spent walking around the city of Liverpool. The city is very walkable.
